SMART is a full service, dependable transportation system offering a convenient and easy way to travel within Wilsonville and outlying areas, including Canby, Salem, and the south end of Portland.

SMART’s mission is to provide convenient, safe, and reliable transportation services in a fiscally responsible manner to meet the needs of Wilsonville residents, employees, and visitors of all ages, ethnicities, and income levels.

SMART is dedicated to providing mobility for those who do not drive and to creating a viable, attractive transportation option for those who do.

How to buy single trip tickets:

Pay drivers exact change. Drivers don’t carry cash.

Pay with Umo (you-mo) mobility app on your phone

Simply link a debit or credit card and add funds to your account through the app

How to buy passes:

Paper passes may be purchased at Wilsonville City Hall by calling (503) 682-1011. Open weekdays from 8 am – 5 pm. A valid photo ID is required.

For Reduced fare purchases on the app, please visit the Cherriots ticket office to have the fare cost in the app adjusted.

Pay with Umo (you-mo) mobile app on your phone.

Rules

When riding with SMART, here are some bus rules to know and follow:

  • Acknowledge priority seating areas for the elderly and disabled.
  • Bikes must be placed in bike rack.
  • Extinguish cigarettes before boarding the bus.
  • Finish food and beverages before boarding or keep them in a closed container.
  • For your safety, do not cross in front of the bus.
  • Leave pets at home unless they are a service animal for the disabled or are in an easily carried pet carrier.
  • Limit audio device use to headphones.
  • No unnecessary conversation with the driver while the bus is moving.
  • Remain seated while the bus is in motion, if possible.
  • Remember that fighting, boisterous, or other behavior that disturbs passengers can result in removal from the bus.
  • Use designated crosswalks after the bus has pulled away.

Accessibility

SMART is committed to providing equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.

  • All SMART buses are accessible.
  • Drivers are trained to assist customers with disabilities.
  • SMART’s minivans have ramp access.
  • SMART’s mini-buses and large buses have wheelchair lifts.

Bikes

  • All SMART buses (not minivans) are equipped with SportWorks bike racks. The bike racks are safe and easy to use. Most of SMART’s buses now have the capacity for up to 3 bikes. All drivers are knowledgeable about the use of the bike racks.
  • FREE bike lockers are available at the Wilsonville Transit Center. Please see SMART’s bike locker page for more information.
  • SMART is also happy to assist schools looking to have Bikes on the Bus lessons at their school. For any questions please contact SMART.

Safety

South Metro Area Regional Transit values the safety of our passengers. Here are some safety guidelines to make your experience riding with us as smooth as possible:

  • Keep your personal information private, including where you are going.
  • Be alert at bus stops and on the bus.
  • If someone makes you feel uncomfortable, sit near the bus driver.
  • No unnecessary conversation with the driver while the bus is moving. Drivers must remain focused on driving.
  • Keep the aisle of the bus clear at all times.
  • Remember that fighting, boisterous, or other behavior that disturbs passengers can result in removal from the bus.
  • In case of an emergency, alert the bus driver and call 9-1-1.
  • Use designated crosswalks after the bus has pulled away. Do not cross in front of the bus.
